PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting channel scan device and a digital broadcasting channel scan method. SOLUTION: The digital broadcasting channel scan method according to the present invention acquires frequency information such as an NIT (Network Information Table), a frequency list alteration information, or a carrier map beforehand, and conducts scan of carriers by utilizing the frequency information. In addition, the method holds a plurality of channel databases, and changes into an optimal broadcasting station information on a channel database out of the channel databases with an exact timing. Thereby, the efficiency of channel scan can be improved. Additionally, it becomes unnecessary to perform channel scan carried out for every movement of a mobile digital broadcasting receiver.
