PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and its method, in which optional halftone processing of user definition can be performed in each plotting object in an MFP without losing constitution for processing full color image data and the reduction of performance due to the halftone processing can be prevented. SOLUTION: A PDF interpreter (CPU 106) applies halftone processing to an object specified with the halftone processing of user definition which is included in PDL data, adjusts the number of bits of image data of the halftone-processed object to the same number of bits as a full color raster data and converts the PDL data into a display list. An RIP 107 renders the full color raster data based on the display list. A selective halftone processing part 501 shifts bits of the halftone-processed full color raster data and applies default halftone processing different from the halftone processing of user definition to the full color raster data whose halftone processing is not performed yet.
