PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning tape capable of uniformly and efficiently cleaning a magneto-resistance effect (MR) head of a high density magnetic recording/reproducing device, etc. SOLUTION: This cleaning tape for the magneto-resistance effect (MR) head is provided with a coating layer including a powder and a binder on at least one surface of a support, to bring the magneto-resistance effect head into contact with the coating layer. It is characterized in that the center line average roughness (Ra) of the coating layer is 10-60 nm and the absolute value of curvature is 3.0 mm or smaller per 1m of tape.
