PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internally illuminating marking device which can uniformly and efficiently illuminate a marking board. SOLUTION: The internally illuminating marking device is formed of the translucent marking board 1, light sources 3, and a reflective board 4 reflecting light emitted from the light sources 3 to the marking board 1. The light sources 3 are distributed in a space on a rear side of a peripheral edge of the marking board 1. The reflective board 4 is formed of a light diffusing material and arranged in the space on the rear side of the marking board 1 in a manner forming an inclined surface with respect to the marking board such that a central area of a reflective surface of the reflective board 4 protrudes frontward and that a peripheral edge of the same recedes rearward. Most portion of light emitted from the light sources 3 does not directly illuminate the marking board 1 but it is diffused and reflected by the reflective board 4 and then directed to the marking board 1, and therefore the marking board 1 can be efficiently and uniformly illuminated.
