PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer eliminating the discomfort of contact of hands to an apparatus body when using, and eliminating an oppression feeling to a user. SOLUTION: The hand dryer includes a drying chamber 10 formed into a recessed shape, a nozzle portion 60 for jetting warm air to the drying chamber 10, and a fan motor 51 for blowing air to be jetted from the nozzle portion 60. The fan motor 51 is provided under the drying chamber 10, the nozzle portion 60 is disposed above an opening portion 12 of the drying chamber 10, and a nozzle cover 20 forming the nozzle portion 60 is formed smaller than the opening portion 12 so as not to entirely cover the whole surface of the opening portion 12 with the nozzle cover 20 as viewed from the top view.
