<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate possibility of causing unnecessary failure in an operational line by enabling an unoperational coated line to be taken out without coming into contact with an operational coated line. <P>SOLUTION: In the coated line storing tray 25 of a branch-connecting box for an optical cable, there are stored an optical connecting part 7 between a coated optical fiber 1a drawn out from the main cable 1 and the coated optical fiber 2a of a drop cable 2, and also an extra length of the coated lines. Then, the coated optical fiber (unoperational coated line) 1b drawn out from the main cable 1 in preparation for the future operation is stored in a tube 42 and arranged in a groove 35 for storing an unoperational coated line, i.e., a groove installed on the side of the coated line storing tray 25. Since the unoperational coated line 1b for a worker is situated before the coated line storing tray 25, the unoperational coated line can be taken out from the coated line storing tray without coming into contact with the operational coated line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
