<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an I2C bus that makes it possible to forcibly open an I2C interface circuit from a PHY when the circuit is disabled by an SW-RESET. <P>SOLUTION: In a module having the PHY and either an EEPROM or an MCU connected to the PHY by an I2C bus, if a SW-RESET 9 occurs when NVR data are read from the EEPROM via the I2C bus, a clock signal 15 of the I2C bus is forcibly toggled to the I2C interface circuit of the PHY, and the EEPROM or the MCU is made to recognize that interrupted I2C communication has been ended as spuriously. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
