PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system around a vehicle whereby a surrounding environment as wide as possible around the vehicle can be grasped at a glance without a sense of incongruity. SOLUTION: The monitoring system around the vehicle displays photographed images P photographed by a plurality of cameras 1 installed on the vehicle on a display apparatus 3 in a vehicle interior, and comprises an image processing section 20 including: a border determining means 21 for determining borders for composing the photographed images P from a plurality of the cameras 1 in the horizontal direction by approximation of an exponential function; a horizontal normalizing means 22 for normalizing the respective photographed images P in the horizontal direction for realizing the borders as vertical borders comprising a straight line; a vertical aligning means 23 for aligning a deviation in a vertical direction of respective photographed images in determining borders; and a pixel number adjustment means 24 for adjusting the number of pixels of the image composed in one image into the number of pixels suitable for the display on the display apparatus 3, and the composite image W generated by the image processing section 20 is displayed on the display apparatus 3.
