PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for limiting excessive speed of a turbine in turbomachinery capable of satisfying requirements of reliability and high speed property. SOLUTION: In this device for limiting excessive speed of the turbine in the turbomachinery, the turbine is provided with a rotor formed by a disc attached to a turbine shaft to hold a movable blade, a fixed blade means arranged between discs of the rotor, and a means for shearing a movable blade of the disc on the upstream side of the rotor.
