PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a striking tool, surely preventing the lost motion and improving the operability and the life of the body. SOLUTION: In this striking tool 1, a striker 11 is slidably fitted in a cylinder case 13, the rotation of a motor as a driving source is converted to the reciprocating motion in the striker 11 of a piston 10 through a crankshaft, the striking force is transmitted to a tip tool 16 by fluctuation in pressure in an air chamber 12 formed between the piston 10 and the striker 11 to perform predetermined work, and the striker 11 is held by a holding member 17 and fixed to provide a lost motion preventing function. The striking tool 1 is provided with an air passage 22 formed to release the air in the space S partitioned by the striker 11 and the holding member 17 to the outside of the space in the state where the striker 11 is held by the holding member 17.
