摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a film thickness in a width direction uniform even when coating of a thin layer is performed and to maintain stable coating by suppressing the generation of stripe-like uneveness due to variation in the coating liquid pressure. SOLUTION: In the subject coating method, a pressure reduction chamber 40 and a slot die 13 are provided adjacently to each other from an upstream side in a traveling direction of a support W, a backup roller 11 is provided oppositely to the slot die, and the support continuously traveled by imparting tension by the pressure reduction chamber and winding on the backup roller is coated with a coating liquid 14 using the slot die. Whenηis a coating liquid viscosity, V is a coating speed, (h) is a coating film thickness in the wetting state, L is slot length and D is slot width, it is coated with the coating liquid at 2N/m<SP>2</SP>≤A≤700 N/m<SP>2</SP>when A=η×V×h×L×1/D<SP>3</SP>.
