PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical solution for the problems in a crossing road for a racetrack, and to provide an activity surface, at least substantially decreasing the disadvantages of an existing movable activity part system. SOLUTION: In a method of closing a fixed gap in an activity surface of a turf racetrack or the like, a first activity surface part provided in a movable tray with the top face having the same characteristics as the activity surface is freely variably connected to a second activity surface part. The connection method includes: a step of providing complimentary overlapping edges inclined to the vertical line on both activity surface parts; a step of moving the movable tray having a first part to a position adjacent to a second part; and a step of abutting the first part to the second part so that the first part and the second part come into contact with each other along the inclined edge part in order to freely variably connect the two parts to each other.
