<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve initial charge and discharge efficiency in a lithium secondary battery using active material particles consisting of silicon and/or silicon alloy as a negative electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery electrode is obtained by arranging and sintering a mixture layer containing active material particles consisting of silicon and/or silicon alloy, a conductive powder, and a binder on a current collector consisting of a conductive metal foil.
