<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereophonic acoustic reproducing apparatus capable of excellently linking sounds between speakers emitting multi-channel surround sounds. <P>SOLUTION: In a rear echo sound producing part 22, convolutional arithmetic operation is performed on direct sounds or initial reflection sounds contained in audio signals of channels of a multi-channel surround audio signal to generate and output, for each channel, a group of rear echo sounds in which frequency characteristics are flat, delay time intervals are non-uniform, the delay time intervals are different for each channel and envelope characteristics are similar for respective channels. Thus, natural echo can be given without exerting adverse influences upon frequency characteristics that contents have. Furthermore, since the delay time intervals of a group of rear echo sounds are different for each channel, the rear echo sounds of the channels can be prevented from becoming monaural and since echo of sounds outputted form speakers connected to the stereophonic acoustic reproducing apparatus can be aligned, sounds can be excellently linked between the speakers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
