<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a method for controlling driving capable of controlling a hold electric current to an appropriate value even when a brush exists under a condition in which it steps over an adjoining commutator. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 10 practicing a printing while an object 12 to be printed is fed, is equipped with a motor 25 equipped with the brush 25g and the commutator 25e, a starting means 70 for operating the motor 25 under a condition reflecting a mechanical loading, a measuring means 70 for measuring the electric current flowing in the motor 25 under a condition in which the motor 25 operated by the starting means 70 is driven, a hold electric current calculating means 70 for calculating the hold electric current loading on the motor 25 based on the electric current measured by the measuring means 70, and an electric current loading means 70 for loading the hold electric current calculated by the hold electric current calculating means 70 on the motor 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
