<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unburned fuel from being discharged to the downstream side of a diesel smoke purification means and also suppress the lowering of fuel economy. <P>SOLUTION: An activity quality determination part is formed in a regenerative treatment means. Based on a comparison between a pre-set oxygen concentration limit and an oxygen concentration detected by an oxygen concentration detection means, the activity quality determination part determines the catalyst purification performance of the diesel smoke purification means. Also, the diesel engine comprises a prohibiting part controlling it so as to prohibit the execution of a filter regenerative treatment based on a determination by the activity quality determination part. Since the prohibiting part prohibits the execution of the filter regenerative treatment if applicable, it can be avoided that the regenerative treatment is performed when the regenerative capacity of the diesel smoke purification means is lowered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
