PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for electric double-layered capacitor satisfying all of thermal resistance, mechanical strength and ionic permeability, and an electric double-layered capacitor employing the separator, since the separator for electric double-layered capacitor satisfying all of the thermal resistance, the mechanical strength, the ionic permeability and further an electrolytic solution retaining property, has not been found yet at present. SOLUTION: The separator for electric double-layered capacitor is constituted of a porous aromatic polyamide layer formed on both sides of a nonwoven fabric whose principal constituting material is a fiber consisting of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point higher than 220°C.
