PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which has a strong emission intensity, a high emission efficiency, and a long life, and is easily manufactured, by using charge transferring polyurethane having a superior thermal stability at the time of light emission, superior storage stability, and a high solubility and compatibility with respect to a solvent and resin, and also to provide its manufacturing method and an image displaying medium using the same. SOLUTION: The organic EL element consists of: a pair of electrodes consisting of an anode and a cathode, at least either one of which is transparent or translucent; and one or several organic chemical compound layers interposed between the pair of electrodes. At least one of the organic chemical compound layers contains at least one kind of charge transferring polyurethane consisting of a repetitious unit which contains at least one kind selected among the structures expressed by general formulas (I-1) and (I-2) as a partial structure.
