PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting coil component in which a larger current is caused to flow and DC resistance is low, while a lower height and a lower cost are attained, and magnetic saturation is not easily produced. SOLUTION: In the surface-mounting coil component 10, coil elements 1A, 1B are arranged in parallel so that side faces S of collars 2a, 2b are put into contact each other, wherein both ends 6a, 6b of a coil conductor 6 wound around a wound core 5 are connected to electrodes 4a, 4b provided at the collars 2a, 2b of both ends of a drum type core 1. The conductor 6 wound around the wound core 5 of each coil element 1A, 1B is covered by resin 7 including a magnetic powder so that the conductor may be entirely covered. Common external electrodes 9a, 9b are provided over each of collars 2a, 2a and 2b, 2b which are in contact with each other in the coil element 1A, 1B. The coil component is constituted so that directions of magnetic flux generated at the wound core 5 may be the same each other when a current is caused to flow, and that directions of magnetic fluxΦ1 generated in the resin 7a including the magnetic powder at a portion in which the resin is filled in gaps between coils may become inverse to the directions of the magnetic flux generated at the wound core 5.
