<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce braking operation force, to surely execute braking and to surely execute braking even in the case that a floor surface has tear-off in a movable appliance. <P>SOLUTION: In the appliance provided with wheels 3a and 3b on the lower part of an appliance body 1, a braking member 35 is vertically movably provided on the lower part of the appliance body 1, its elevating and lowering operation mechanism is provided in the appliance body, braking is executed by bringing the braking member into contact with the floor surface by lowering it, and braking is canceled by separating it from the floor surface by elevating it. Also, the braking state is attained by the contact pressure to the floor surface of the braking member 35 without elevating the appliance main body 1.
