<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selectable capacitance circuit that can have a pair of electrically conductive plates having at least one plate that can carry out a relative motion if an adequate electrical control signal is given wherein the relative motion can change the capacitor's capacitance to use the capacitor for various ends (such as a filtering circuit, a tuning circuit, a phase-shifting circuit, an attenuator circuit, etc.). <P>SOLUTION: The mechanical conductive film of the capacitor controlled by voltage is movable to a first position and to a second position, and it further can move from the first position and from the second position onward. The capacitance amount is changeable in accordance with the movement of the mechanical conductive film. The capacitor, which is controlled by a minute electro-mechanical (MEMS) voltage, can be used for various ends (e.g., for RF switches, and RF attenuators, but not limited to these uses). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
