PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat radiation fin and its manufacturing method wherein a mechanical bonding between a carbon fiber and a base material is strong and a high quenching performance can be exhibited. SOLUTION: A plurality of carbon fibers 2 are subjected to a metal plating process (electrodeless Cu plating process) ((a), (b)), and the carbon fibers 2 having a metal plating layer 3 (Cu plating layer) on the surface thereof are stood upright on a planar temporary base material 11 by an electrostatic filling, and one end of the carbon fiber 2 is temporarily adhered to the planar temporary base material 11 with adhesives 12 ((c), (d)). The other end of the carbon fiber 2 which is not tentatively adhered is brought into contact with a base material 1 (Cu plate) having a surface on which a solder paste 13 is coated, and in this state, a solder is melted and quenched to solder the carbon fiber 2 to the base material 1 ((e), (f)). After completion of a mechanical/thermal bonding between the base material 1 and the carbon fiber 2, it is dipped in an organic solvent, so that the temporary base material 11 which has been temporarily adhered is separated from the carbon fiber 2 to produce a heat radiation fin 10 (g).
