PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer composition having excellent dispersibility of a reinforcing agent, characteristics essentially possessed by a substrate polymer and especially excellent mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, to provide a reinforcing particle suitable for affording the polymer composition, to provide a method for producing the same and to provide a vulcanizable rubber composition composed of the polymer composition. SOLUTION: The alkylene ether structure-containing polymer-coated reinforcing particle is obtained by carrying out a coating treatment of 100 pts.wt. of a reforcing particle having silanol groups on the surface with 0.3-200 pts.wt. of the alkylene ether structure-containing polymer having≥5,000 weight-average molecular weight in an organic solvent having 16.0-20.0 MPa<SP>1/2</SP>solubility parameter. The polymer composition comprises the substrate polymer and the alkylene ether structure-containing polymer-coated reinforcing particle. The vulcanizable rubber composition is obtained by compounding the polymer composition composed of a rubber-like polymer and the alkylene ether structure-containing polymer-coated reinforcing particle with a vulcanizing agent.
