PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock-absorbing material for packing to lift a commodity so that a caster of the commodity is in a non-contact state with an inner bottom surface of a packing case with a pallet in which the shock-absorbing material is easily and safely removed from a lower side of the commodity, and the commodity is easily and safely lowered on a floor from a bottom plate of the packing case. SOLUTION: The shock-absorbing member 8 has first and second air storing chambers 27 and 28 which are divided into two sections. When air is filled in the air storing chambers 27 and 28, a copier 2 is lifted thereby. By venting air in the first air storing chamber 27, an upper portion of the shock-absorbing material 8 is shrunk, and the shock-absorbing material 8 is drawn from the lower side of the copier 2. The shock-absorbing material 8 with air in the first air storing chamber 27 vented is substantially wedge-shaped in side view.
