PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to attain an image quality improvement of printing images. SOLUTION: The printer is equipped with (A) an element which carries out the action for making ink discharged, (B) a signal output part which can output both a first drive signal for making the element carry out the action for making the ink discharged by a predetermined speed, and a second drive signal for making the element carry out the action for making the ink discharged by a speed higher than the predetermined speed, and (C) a controller which switches the signal to be outputted from the signal output part from the first drive signal to the second drive signal according to set information from the user.
