The drive train has an internal combustion engine (VM) capable of starting independently, an electro-machine (EM) and a double clutch gear (DKG), by which the output shaft of the engine can be either connected to an electro-machine rotor using a coupling (K) or connected directly to the input shaft of the double clutch gear using a countershaft. The process means that before the operational mode is changed into being at least partly combustion-engine driven, the combustion engine can start independently.
