<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery that is small in the number of layers of electrodes, easy to manufacture and highly safe to manufacture a large-sized battery having a capacity of 5 Ah or larger. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery of this invention comprises one positive electrode and one negative electrode, wherein a mixture of a positive electrode active material, a conducting agent and a binding agent has an electric resistivity of 0.1 to 1 Ωcm, and the electric capacity per cuboid is 10 to 50 mAh, where the bottom surface of the cuboid is assumed to be a square of 1 cm<SP>2</SP>of each of the positive and negative electrodes and the height thereof is assumed to be the thickness of each of the positive and negative electrodes.
