<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decontaminate an area contaminated by chemical and biological agents more safely. <P>SOLUTION: Discharging stream 24 containing hydrogen peroxide is supplied by a first decontamination system 20 carried on a vehicle 22 such as a self-propelled or tracted vehicle. The system 20 includes a container 26 in which hydrogen peroxide of high concentration is stored. The hydrogen peroxide passes through the conduit to the catalytic reactor 32 to be decomposed into water and oxygen. This decomposition heats a reaction product and discharge power to expand furthermore. The expansion ejects the stream 24 containing unreacted hydrogen peroxide. The illustrated temperature of the stream 24 containing the unreacted hydrogen peroxide is 170-280°C and the flow rate is 0.05-9 kg/s. The stream 24 may be pointed directly to the surface to be decontaminated or pointed to an area to be decontaminated including roads.
