摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of keeping recording quality constant. <P>SOLUTION: This optical disk device performs focus search at two or more measuring points in the radial direction on each of the signal recording layers L0, L1, and detects amplitudes A0, A1 of focus error signal FE at each measuring point, and also detects in advance optimal writing power PM0, PM1 of a laser beam &alpha; in each test zone of the signal recording layers L0, L1. The optimal writing power P of the laser beam &alpha; in a write-in address ADD is calculated based on the write-in address ADD, detected values A0, A1 of the amplitudes of the signal FE, and detected values PM0 and PM1 of the optimal writing power.
