PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerating agent for a waste solution of an organic solvent and a method of treating the solution which regenerate a once contaminated waste solution of an organic solvent, even in small amounts, easily and inexpensively into a reusable organic solvent. SOLUTION: The method comprises injecting a regenerating agent comprising a metal chelate compound or a metal alkoxide compound other than alkoxy compounds of alkali metals into a cloudy waste solution of an organic solvent to flocculate the cloudy impurities, precipitating the resultant flock matter and recovering the supernatant.
