<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discrimination method for a horny layer cell which quickly and precisely grasps a shape of the horny layer cell, particularly an exfoliation situation of the horny layer cell in a dyed or undyed condition and can evaluate the skin characteristic at any place. <P>SOLUTION: An enlarged image of a horny layer cell sample photographed in a vertical illumination condition is captured as an image and images of three ranges such as a background portion, a portion where the horny layer cell overlaps the other horny layer cell and a portion where the horny layer cell does not overlap the other horny layer cell are extracted from the monochrome image to execute the discrimination of the horny layer cells such as by the exfoliation state of the horny layer cell using the result in the multivariate analysis of the physical quantity of the above images as the indices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
