<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user authentication device capable of permitting, without a user action for authentication, such as holding up a card, its use only for those having both authority and intention to use. <P>SOLUTION: The user authentication device comprises a position detection means 47 for detecting a person's position, and determines permission of use by a propriety of use determination means 49 only when it is determined by a use-authority data determination means 42 based on use authority data that the use is authorized, the person is determined to be a user having the use authority by a physical-feature data collation means 46 based on physical feature data, and it is determined by a use-intention determination means 48 based on the person's position detected by the position detection means that the person has the intention to use. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
