<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion vector detecting device for reducing a detection processing time of a motion vector in field motion vector detecting operation in moving video image encoding processing. <P>SOLUTION: In the detection of a motion vector between a current block and a reference block, a partial retrieving region determining unit 1013 determines a region which is part of the reference block as a partial retrieve region, and a retrieve finish region determining unit 1014 determines a retrieve finish region for finishing the retrieve if the motion vector is included in the region. A motion vector determining unit 1015 calculates all estimation values of the pixel of the current block and a pixel dislocated in the partial retrieve region of the reference block for each field motion vector, and selects the minimal motion vector. If the selected motion vectors are all in the retrieve finish region, it is determined as a field motion vector, and if it is out of the retrieve finish region, the retrieve of the motion vectors is continued. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
