PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp to which an electrode is assembled in an advantageous form, in one having a long and thin tubular discharge vessel and at least one electrode attached to an outside of the discharge vessel along a length direction of the discharge vessel. SOLUTION: An electrode disposed in the discharge vessel is formed and jointed to a sleeve grasping the electrode, wherein the sleeve partially grasps a circumferential surface of the discharge vessel in a direction perpendicular to a length direction while leaving an opening to emit light.
