PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a themochromic electric cord excellent in safety, whereby heat generated in a core wire can be clearly visible, and disconnection or an excess current can be discovered in its early stage. SOLUTION: This themochromic electric cord contains 1-20 weight parts of a reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment to 100 weight parts of an insulating material to coat the core wire, and the average particle diameter of the reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment is 0.5-50μm, or this thermochromic electric cord is formed by providing a reversible thermochromic layer on the surface of the insulating coating material to coat the core wire, the reversible thermochromic layer contains 1-20 weight parts of the reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment to 100 weight parts of a binder resin, and the average particle diameter of the reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment in the layer is 0.5-50μm.
