PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weighted value description technique for increasing the performance of multimedia searching and browsing by effectively describing weighted values on each multimedia item and a multimedia search method using the weighted value description technique. SOLUTION: Each description information showing multimedia content information forms multimedia data, consisting of a weighted value type 102 that means reference by which a weighted value is defined, a weighted value 103 obtained by the reference defined by the weighted value type, and its reliability 104 that means how reliable the weight value attached to a target by the weighted value type is.
