PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more increase the operating speed of a printer without causing the useless consumption of a web at stopping/starting a printing operation. SOLUTION: The printer is provided with a buffer holding member having a driving source, for holding the movable buffer of a buffer mechanism, and a suction switching member having a driving source, and arranged between a suction blower and a suction unit, then, the printer is controlled.
