PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a improved method of manufacturing metallocene compounds. SOLUTION: The metallocene compound expressed by formula (3) is obtained by reacting a silicon-substituted cyclopentadiene compound shown by formula (1) with a transition metal compound shown by formula (2) in a solvent containing an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent. In formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>show each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or an alkyl group, or the like; R<SP>5</SP>-R<SP>9</SP>show each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a 1-20C alkyl group, or the like; R<SP>10</SP>shows an alkyl group or the like; R<SP>11</SP>shows a hydrocarbon group or a trisubstituted silyl group; R<SP>12</SP>, R<SP>13</SP>, and R<SP>14</SP>show each a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, or the like. In formula (2), M shows a transition metal atom of the group 4 in the periodic table of elements; X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>, X<SP>3</SP>, and X<SP>4</SP>are mutually the same or different and show each a hydrogen atom or the like; n shows 0 or 1.
