PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking container for a microwave oven facilitating cooking and washing after the cooking and being applicable to foods with arbitrary shapes including efficiently cooking narrow and long foods such as a small amount of rehydratable noodles. SOLUTION: This cooking container for the microwave oven comprises an outer container, an inner container stored in the outer container with its almost fitted therein and having multiple water drain holes, and a lid body. The side walls of the outer container and the inner container are formed of tapered faces tapered downward, and a pair of planar side walls at least facing to the side walls are provided to fit the outer container to the inner container in two positions horizontally reversing 180°. The lower part of the side wall inner face of the outer container is provided with three or more projections projecting inward at some interval apart in the circumferential direction, the lower part of the side wall outer face of the inner container is provided with recesses fittable around the respective projections, and the projections and recesses are so disposed as to be mutually fitted in the first fitting position of the outer container and the inner container and mutually non-fitted in a reversed second fitting position and the bottom of the inner container is fitted to the upper ends of the projections.
