A water heating device (A1), comprising a neutralizing device (B1) for neutralizing an acidic drain produced according to the recovery of heat from a combustion gas. When a fuel oil leaks from a combustor (1), the fuel oil advances to at least either of the inside and upper side of the container (40) of the neutralizing device (B1), and that event is detected by an oil sensor (5). Accordingly, the leakage of the fuel oil from the combustor (1) can be accurately detected. Since the container (40) of the neutralizing device (B1) is utilized for collecting the fuel oil, the number of parts can be reduced to simplify the structure and reduce the size of the overall device.
