<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin compound magnetic substance (for example, 0.4 mm or smaller) that is superior for attenuation effect at 100-400 MHz which poses problems in satisfying the EMC Standards. <P>SOLUTION: The compound magnetic substance 1 is constituted by a soft magnetic metal phase 2 and an insulation phase 3 interposed between the soft magnetic metal phases 2. Here, the soft magnetic metal phase 2 is constituted by jointing flat soft magnetic metal powder, whose surface is coated with an insulating film by pressure welding. Further, the insulating film constitutes the insulation phase 3. The compound magnetic substance 1 makes the space factor of the soft magnetic metal phase 2 to the compound magnetic substance 1 50% or higher, further to 60-90%.
