<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus surely reading data necessary for starting a system. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is surely started by storing the number of times of writing and the limit number to nonvolatile memory and when the number of times of writing reaches the limit number, reading the necessary data for starting from HDD of the image forming apparatus until the nonvolatile memory is exchanged. Furthermore, when the number of times of writing to the nonvolatile memory reaches the limit number, that the nonvolatile memory cannot be used is displayed to a display part provided in an operating part and the user is made to recognize that the nonvolatile memory cannot be used. Furthermore, when the number of times of writing reaches the limit number, forbiddance information to the effect that the nonvolatile memory cannot be used is written and the nonvolatile memory is prevented from being used again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
