<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect a fault in a tag unit for recognition being attached to an object article requiring recognition. <P>SOLUTION: The tag unit for recognition includes a radio-wave tag and a magnetic tag in a tag main body, so as to store information necessary for recognizing the object article with the radio-wave tag. The tag reader includes a function of radiating a radio wave to the radio-wave tag, and receiving a response wave from the radio-wave tag having sensed the above radio wave, and a function of radiating magnetism to the magnetic tag, and receiving a response wave from the magnetic tag having sensed the magnetism. The tag reader drives both functions simultaneously. On receiving the response wave from the radio-wave tag, the tag reader analyzes the response wave and reads information necessary for recognizing the object article. Meanwhile, on receiving the response wave from the magnetic tag without receiving the response wave from the radio-wave tag, the tag reader issues an alarm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
