<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method capable of making film thickness in a width direction uniform even when coating of a thin layer is performed, capable of suppressing variation in the film thickness in a longitudinal direction and capable of maintaining stable coating by suppressing generation of stripe, or the like, and to prepare an optical film and an anti-reflection film. <P>SOLUTION: In the coating method, a pressure reduction chamber 40 and a slot die 13 are provided adjacently to each other from an upstream side in a traveling direction of a support W, a backup roller 11 is provided oppositely to the slot die and the support continuously being traveled by imparting tension by the pressure reduction chamber and winding on the backup roller is coated with a coating liquid 14 using the slot die. A clearance between the support surface wound on the backup roller and a distal end of the slot die is set to a predetermined value of 100 μm or less and it is coated with the coating liquid while suppressing variation in the clearance within ±7% of a set value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
