PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an information processing apparatus capable of displaying a moving image in a display form, corresponding to the preference of a user, without making the visibility of still images lowered. SOLUTION: When it is detected that the display mode of moving image data is a full-screen mode, a display control mode for sending out a video signal generated by a graphics controller 114 to an LCD 17 is switched from a normal mode for sending out the video signal to the LCD 17, without going through the intermediary of a high-quality video engine (HVE) 115 to a high-quality video mode for sending the video signal through the HVE 115 to the LCD 17. The HVE 115 magnifies the screen size of the video signal in one, designated by the user, of a linear scaling mode and a nonlinear scaling mode.
