PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pictures-and-writings system capable of enhancing setting accuracy of white balance without incurring cost increase. SOLUTION: In the pictures-and-writings system wherein a color photographing device photographs an original (101b) located on an original placing plane (101a) on an original platen (101) and a photographed image is projected on a screen, white balance setting symbols (114, 115) are placed to nearly a middle part of the original placing plane (101a) of the original platen (101), a discrimination step (S14) for discriminating whether or not the photographed image photographed by the photographing device includes an image of the symbols (114, 115) is executed, and when the discrimination result is affimative (YES), a setting step (S15) for carrying out white balance setting of the photographing device is carried out.
