PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle apparatus which takes preventing measure by which a circuit breaker does not make erroneous operation caused by an accidental touch to a grip of the handle by a human body or an object even when the padlock is not locked, while ensuring handle lock function by using the padlock. SOLUTION: In the handle apparatus as an external accessory of the circuit breaker opening and closing the circuit breaker, a grip 4 of a rotary-type handle having a draw out-type lock plate 4a corresponding to a padlock lock mechanism is arranged on a mounting base 3 of the handle. A guard fence 8 having height H higher than the height h of a grip is arranged on the mounting base so as to surround the periphery of the grip, thereby guarding a region except the draw out region of the lock plate corresponding to lock positions (ON, OFF) of the handle. Thus, the handle is prevented from being switched by an accidental touch of a human body or an object even in an actual-use state that the padlock is not locked. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
