PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp locations where a base unit, relay unit and handset are set in an automatic radio meter reading system. SOLUTION: The automatic radio meter reading system incorporates GPS devices inside the base unit, relay unit and handset. The base unit 1 is set at the desired location. The present location of the base unit 1, the latitude and longitude, is obtained by receiving the geodetic electromagnetic wave from a GPS satellite 7. The location information is sent to a center device 5 via the mobile phone network 4. The center device 5 registers the location information in the database device 6. Likewise, the location information of the relay unit 2 and handset 3 are registered in the management center. Responding to requests from the mobile phone or a portable computer, the image information showing the overlapped locations of the base unit, relay unit and handset on a map is sent to the mobile phone or the potable personal computer.
