PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiving module which can reduce degradation of the minimum-receiving sensitivity in optical communication by suppressing return light, and to provide an optical transmitting module of a high and stabilized output, by reducing the return light. SOLUTION: This optical receiving module which has a photodetector 22, a stem 21 mounted with an IC for amplifying optical signals, a lens 28 for condensing the light, and a sleeve 23 for holding the light-receiving side ferrule of an fiber-optic connector. The refractive index of this sleeve is substantially the same as that of the optical fiber core, and the core of the receiving side of the optical fiber is in contact with the sleeve. Further, the light-emitting end surface of the sleeve 23 is of hemispherical shape or is inclined by 4-12 degrees with respect to the optical receiving surface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
