PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic circuit for a transmission stabilized in pressure in a centrifugal canceling chamber. SOLUTION: The belt continuously variable transmission for achieving a stepless speed ratio has driving and driven side pulleys, a belt wound on the driving and driven side pulleys for power transmission, piston chambers provided in the pulleys for hydraulically changing groove widths of the pulleys, and the centrifugal canceling chambers for canceling centrifugal hydraulic pressure in the piston chambers. A supply side oil path and a discharge side oil path to the centrifugal canceling chamber are provided in the rotating shaft of each pulley, and a release valve is provided in the discharge side oil path for allowing only a flow to be discharged from the centrifugal canceling chamber.
